Welcome to Graber Hydro-Graphics! Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

Text Box: What we do has many different names. Some are, Hydro Printing,
Hydro-graphics, immersion imaging and most popular… Water Transfer Printing.

The Process

The process begins with a roll of ‘film’. This special film looks and feels similar to wrapping paper. The film is cut to the appropriate size for the part to be dipped. It is then placed on top of a tank of water, activator is then applied, which liquefies the film. The part is then dipped into the water and film, which transfers the pattern onto the part.

Prior to dipping, the part usually receives a base coat of paint. This will be the ‘background’ of the film. For example, a camo pattern has leaves, trees and grass. The base coat will be the color that is behind these parts of the pattern. The base coat can also change the hue of the pattern. If a tan color base is used, it will produce a standard camo. If orange is used, the pattern will then become a ‘blaze orange’ camo pattern.

After paint and dipping is complete, the part will receive a clear coat for protection and appearance, just as a vehicle does. Most parts will receive either a flat, semi-gloss or high gloss clear coat. Most hunting items are sprayed with a flat clear coat, to reduce shine and glare. Household and automotive usually receive a high gloss finish for appearance.

The entire process is up to you, the client. Please take a look at just a few of the films that are available under “Film”. If you don't see what you are looking for, please ask us. We have many resources and can acquire just about every film/pattern available.

We look forward to visiting and working with you soon!

Sincerely,
Graber Hydro-Graphics
